For ‘self-funder’ customers Medequip provide independence equipment assessment and purchase facilities. Wherever possible we believe you should have the right to choose and to try equipment before you buy and therefore we provide assessment areas and retail displays at our distribution centres. Here we display a range of both daily living aids – smaller gadgets and innovative products which are not normally provided by community equipment services, but that can be vital to people who wish to remain independent and live at home.

We also display larger products such as rise and recline chairs and powered bath lifts alongside the latest rollators and other mobility aids.

Our trusted assessors are on hand at all of our locations to guide customers through the equipment options that best suit their needs.

Whether a customer just needs a Helping Hand reacher or a more complex equipment option, Medequip can offer the widest range of choice coupled with our expertise and experience to ensure each person’s individual needs are met.

Supporting Independent Living Centres

Medequip is proud to work in partnership with a number of Local Council-run Independent Living Centres (ILCs), helping to make daily living equipment more accessible to the communities they serve.

We support each centre with their retail offering, giving people the opportunity to view, try, and purchase a wide range of products designed to promote safety, comfort, and independence at home.

Retail Partners

Medequip work with other trusted retailers in our contract trading areas to ensure that self-funding customers are signposted to a choice of providers. These will be other BHTA member retailers or social enterprise charities such as, for example Brighter Futures in Lancashire or Ability Aware in Staffordshire. Our promotional leaflets provide an additional discount to customers when buying from Medequip or these partners.

Retail Marketing

Medequip produce a range of leaflets, product catalogues and advertisements to promote our retail services. These are distributed widely – via doctors surgeries, council contact points and at all our promotional events across our operational areas.
