Please get in touch in regards to general enquires, repair/maintenance/technical issues of equipment loaned to you, equipment returns/recycling.
What support is available to help me keep independent?
If you have a disability and/or experience difficulty completing daily tasks, you have a couple of options:
Community Equipment Service
The service provides a range of equipment to help you live independently. This is funded by Cornwall Council and the NHS, where Medequip provides the equipment on loan and includes delivery and fitting, servicing, collection and recycling.
You may be eligible for specific equipment following an assessment, where health or social care prescribers, such as an Occupational Therapist, can work with you to find ways of managing tasks and offer advice and potential solutions.
To access equipment and request an assessment, you can ask your GP for a referral, or if you are to be discharged from hospital, an assessment can be arranged.
To enquire or request an assessment directly, contact Cornwall Council's Social Care Team on 0300 1234 131 or complete the online social care needs assessment form.
Returning Equipment
If you have already benefited from equipment loaned to you that you no longer need, you can request a free collection so we can recycle and help others in need. Contact us on 01726 210477 or email cornwall@medequip-uk.com.
Alternatively, you can return equipment directly to our service centre.
You can return small items like crutches, walking sticks and reachers to the following locations. Please do not return large items to these sites as they do not have space to store them.
Small items with a Medequip label can be returned directly to any of the drop off points on the following map.
Please click on a marker for details. For a list of returnable equipment, view the Equipment Amnesty Flyer.
