Medequip is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its operations and value chain and supporting the NHS ambition to achieve a Net Zero health service.
As part of the Medux International Group, Medequip has established a structured decarbonisation programme covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. Emissions are measured and reported in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and are used to guide investment and operational decision making. The latest completed carbon assessment covers the 2024 reporting year.
Our Climate Commitments
Medequip supports the Medux International commitment to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
In addition, Medux International has submitted near-term emissions reduction targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for formal validation. These targets include:
- 25.2% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030 from a 2024 baseline.
- 17.3% absolute reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030 from a 2024 baseline.
Formal SBTi validation is expected to commence during 2026.
Emissions Reduction Programme
Medequip is delivering a comprehensive programme of emissions reduction initiatives across its operations, estates, fleet and supply chain, including:
- Transition of the vehicle fleet towards zero-emission vehicles.
- Installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across depots and employee locations.
- Procurement of renewable electricity across operational sites.
- Procurement of renewable gas and reduction of direct fossil fuel use.
- Solar photovoltaic installation projects across the estate.
- Energy efficiency improvements including LED lighting, heating optimisation and building energy controls.
- Supplier engagement and sustainable procurement initiatives.
- Circular economy programmes focused on refurbishment, repair, reuse and recycling of equipment.
- Packaging reduction and waste minimisation initiatives.
- Enhanced carbon data collection, reporting and governance.

Medequip continues to strengthen carbon reporting, supplier engagement and emissions reduction activity across all areas of the business. The organisation has experienced significant growth in operational activity, service delivery and product volumes in recent years and continues to invest in initiatives that reduce environmental impact while supporting customers, local authorities and NHS partners.
The 2025 carbon footprint assessment is currently underway and is expected to be completed during 2026.
