Medequip has successfully partnered with Healthwatch Wirral to collaboratively design and deliver a project aimed at gathering valuable user feedback on the Community Equipment Loan Service operating across the Wirral peninsula. This initiative was developed to incorporate the voices of the people who use the service into its operations, reinforcing a shared commitment to inclusivity and continuous improvement.
Discussions for this partnership began early in 2023, with both organisations working closely together to design a satisfaction survey that could effectively capture the experiences and needs of people using the Community Equipment Loan Service. The project included consultation with various community groups and other stakeholders to ensure the survey was both accessible and capable of delivering meaningful insights.
To engage the community as extensively as possible, the survey was widely promoted across digital and social media platforms, community forums, and other outreach channels, encouraging maximum participation. By the time the survey closed at the end of October 2024, it had received an impressive 454 responses, providing valuable insights into the experiences of individuals using the service.
With feedback collected, Healthwatch Wirral provided a comprehensive report to Medequip in December 2024. The two organisations are now analysing the results and working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop an actionable plan for enhancing the Community Equipment Loan Service. This plan will focus on addressing identified areas for enhancement and aligning the service more closely with user needs.
Commenting for Medequip, Engagement Team Representative Alex Roberts stated, “This project exemplifies the power of collaboration and partnership working. By joining forces with Healthwatch Wirral and engaging with community organisations, we are ensuring that the voices of the people who use the service are heard and valued. We’re excited to turn this feedback into meaningful actions that deliver measurable improvements.”
A spokesperson from Healthwatch Wirral added, “We were keen to provide an independent review of the service Medequip provides to people in Wirral to help them stay independent in their home and to share our results. This review highlights how partnership working can drive real change and create services that are truly shaped by the people who use them.”
