Big Thank You Day has been an important event on the Medequip calendar for over a decade, giving the company a unique opportunity to celebrate its people and their individual and team achievements. This longstanding annual tradition was originally established to recognise colleagues who go the extra mile in delivering outstanding service, teamwork, professionalism and commitment to the organisation’s values.
The eleventh Big Thank You Day, held on 27 January 2026 at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, brought together employees from across Medequip, Ross Care, Medequip Connect, Manage at Home and Consolor in a shared celebration of the people who work tirelessly every day to provide essential services to communities across the UK.
Recognition Led by Colleagues
One of the most valued aspects of Big Thank You Day is that nominations are made by peers. Colleagues across the business are encouraged to reflect on the past year and put forward the names of those who they consider deserve recognition for their efforts. This year’s celebrations reflected the importance attached to the event, with more than 1,300 nominations submitted by employees across the Group.
As well as highlighting exceptional achievements, the nomination process provides an opportunity for employees to thank one another and celebrate contributions that may otherwise go unnoticed.
Championing the People Behind Essential Services
Medequip and Ross Care emphasise that the awards shine a light both on those demonstrating outstanding achievements in the past 12 months and also on reinforcing the importance of the unsung heroes in all areas of the business who consistently deliver vital frontline services with expertise and compassion.

Throughout the day, awards were presented across a wide range of categories, including Unsung Hero, Best Newcomer, Customer Recognition, Partnership and Engagement, Technician of the Year, Clinician of the Year and Team of the Year, culminating in the Employee of the Year award.
The colleague nominations read out demonstrated the breadth of talent across the organisations and the shared pride in those delivering outstanding support to customers and service users every day.
